I’m Melissa Martin, a self taught artist, illustrator and graphic designer living and working in the beautiful Harbourfront neighbourhood of Toronto.
My personal and commission work is rooted in observational drawing, with a bold and vibrant approach to colour. I like to work traditionally with gouache, watercolour or acrylic ink, often layered with seemingly haphazard scribbles of coloured pencils and wax pastels that results in vibrant and energized finished artwork.
For illustration work I love working with traditional media and digital tools to make both static and animated illustrations.
Whether it’s a colourful map to highlight service routes, unique and eye-catching repeating patterns, short animations to help illustrate your message or impactful designs for your next branding project, if you’re looking for new illustrations that serve you or your client’s needs, delivered to time and on brief, you're in the right place.

I’m also the host of ART HANG PARTY!, a weekly live hour-ish-long art-making session full of fast-paced drawing!
